No. You can start by picking genres and favorite titles during onboarding. That is enough to generate your first recommendations. Connecting Jellyfin later adds watch history for even richer personalization.

Optional: install our sidecar container alongside your Jellyfin server. The sidecar polls your Jellyfin API, aggregates viewing data, and securely syncs engagement signals with our recommendation service. Setup instructions are in Account Settings after you sign up.
